A frozen memory from a past that is still moving. A paradox that the sidereal time of memory, as Beccket beautifully said in his work “Bing”, immortalizes. In “Bing”, a subtle, repetitive, circular narrative causes an internal stream of ephemeral, fast, intense and yet pale moment, in a weak gray, lost in past memories, almost white over white. A trompe l'œil that, as it were going nowhere, leads us to new, unknown territories which, in the end, cannot ever find the way back. Everything changes in the mobility of repetition.
Traces Fouillis gris pâle presque blanc sur blanc was written between January and March of 2007 for the concert Ensemble Alternance, on April 7th of 2007, date of the first concert, in the Amphitheatre Richelieu - La Sorbonne, in Paris. It was once again played by the same group in February of 2008, in the Cortot Room, also in Paris. Its first presentation in Brazil was in 2008, in the Festival da Música Nova (New Music Festival). It is inspired, poetically and structurally, by the text “Bing”, by Samuel Beckett.
