This work is a self-tribute, in celebration of his 36th birthday. It was composed right before this day. The term square refers to the mathematics expression, once 6 2 is 36. In this manner, the piece uses other number squares (such as the 9 times compass - 32), and the idea of the number 2 in its structure. Of intense polyphony, the work also reveals a Brazilian feature in its rhythms and melodies, constant elements in the composer’s music.
