biografia do compositor

Em Tempo

The perception of time and its relation to music were the foundation of the composition of this piece. The first movement is entitled Aeon, Greek word that means “era”, that is, a long period of time.  Changes in timbre and the simultaneity of rhythmic flows contribute to a dilated time perception, without the fixed pulsation rigor that determines its measure.       The second movement, Caixinha do tempo (or Time Box), contrasts with the first one, evoking, through the use of the repetition of small rhythm-melodic cells, the possibilities of measuring the time passage, from the creation of mechanical devices.   The last movement, Lembranças do Amanhã (or Memories of Tomorrow), intends to describe the time paradox that allows our minds to raise expectations about events that are still to come.  The relatively simple melody line and the texture created by the accompaniment help create the illusion of predicting the development of the musical flow yet to come.
